Remove Watermark From ShutterStock Images

I found this post in spanish so here by i am converting that tutorial in English. This tutorial shows how to Remove Watermark From ShutterStock Images from some web designing tools like Photoshop.

Actual Tutorial: Link (spanish version)

It was today in the agency doing a sketch when I realized that needed a photo for the model of the place that was designing, I sought inside the images of our bank of images, but nothing served so I had to begin to seek in ShutterStock (lease photos place) we generally buy photos in that place for some projects, but this time only needed a photo for the (if the client approves is bought it the photo) nevertheless ShutterStock does not withdraw the watermarks in the previews (thing that if does for the clients the famous one ImageBank)

I began to work then with the photo with the watermark, but the truth is that had me complicated since this not so transparent mark ruined me the design. So I gave me to the task to retouch the photo to remove him the watermark, I began with the inkpad, the tie, the feather, but nothing, the photo only was remaining worse:

Suddenly an idea of how remove the watermark came itself me to the head, permit me to share it in the shape of tutorial with you:

This is the image that will be in charge of example:

Also we will need this:

We leave for selecting carefully the mark of Shutterstock by its contours since the image of the laptop and we carry it to the file of the cuentahilos, thus:

Here is where the magic comes: Once there we will have to align the mark exactly on the original one. Then one must invest the colors of the layer of the mark for finally descend its opacity to the 50%,

Et voila!! the mark has gone, instead of her now only there is a darker zone with the form of the mark, thus:

Now, doing a click with CTRL on the layer of the mark we select the form of this, then we do a new layer of adjustment of Levels (this layer should be on that of the mark) and we begin to play with the values until disappearing completely the mark, thus:

After some seconds treating, they will be able to disappear completely the mark, without a drop of inkpad

The result should be seemed to this:

Good small, that is, them abandonment the tutorial one so that they remove him benefit, they recall to respect the rights of the photos and only to withdraw a watermark when they are working in a model, I do not want that they be put in a mess.

As a contributor to shutterstock and other microstock agencies, I want to personally thank you for stealing our images. We work very hard for not much compensation - cents on the dollar (when the image is purchased legally) and so when you use our images illegally, it doesn't really matter.

We especially like the fact that you are sharing techniques around the web that will teach others to steal our images as well.

I hope you sleep well at night knowing that you are ripping off someone else's hard work. If you are a blessed person, you will never know what it is like to be violated in this way.

As a image contributor to Shutterstock I am very distressed to find this tutorial.

I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on my camera and studio equipment, have spent countless hours learning how to shoot high quality images for my one and only income and I make a very small amount of money in return for my investments and hard work. I literately make .30 per images sold, when a Shutterstock buyer purchases my images legally.

I am a single woman with two little kids and I struggle each month to make ends meet. I have not been to a doctor or dentist for years because I can not afford to go and I find it offensive that you would post a tutorial to teach people to steal my livelihood and take food out of my children's mouths.

You are encouraging a culture of theft and you have no regard for the welfare of others. I am very upset that you believe that teaching others to steal our work okay!

I will not thank you for teaching people to rob us of our livelihoods. I certainly hope that you are prosecuted to the full extent of the law for this. I for one will be turning you in.

Will you please post tutorial how to steal your work, or, if you prefer, how someone can delete your website?

Thank you very much in advance from a shutterstock contributor who buys, not steals, her camera equipment, and then spends time working on her images.

First of all, euphoric did not steal your images, http://www.digilicious.cl/2007/08/25/como-borrar-una-marca-de-agua/ did. All euphoric did was translate it in english. As for microstocker, alexandria, parrypix, accusing someone of stealing is also against the law. euphoric can turn you in also. The law states that as long he is not selling them or claiming them as their own, no court will prosecute someone for that. also, he is not encouraging theft nor is he teaching people how to steal. These technigues have been around a long time. lynn

Well, snowtiger, with the TRANSLATED tutorial he IS teaching people how to remove the ShutterStock watermark and thus TO STEAL copyrighted content. And if he didn't want to get into trouble, WHY THE HELL HE PUTS SOMETHING LIKE THIS?

Hope that's clear for you.

hey shutterstockers... as a designer I use shutterstock images for testing designs - then I have to remove the watermark to show the project to client - client decide what project and what photo he wants and then I buy the photo I need. Where is the "steal" here? I don't need another 20 photos - I need only 2 or 3 choosen photos, but to show them properly in project it's much better to remove the watermark before (most of the photos are useless in preview size anyway).
